Twisting the trash of the world into artefacts that last

Here at fugacefugace, cutting through from the heart of Florence, we believe our FFilter is about twisting the every-day into something that actually has a pulse, visit us at our cutting table and you’ll find us slashing through piles of discarded felt going after beauty within or gaffer taping old VHS camcorders to broomsticks and running through the same streets that Michaelangelo once stomped across.

There’s two distinct journeys to same pinpoint here. Taglierino (box-cutter) Couture where are slash cut lines meet hero-level stitching to create garms like our Kage-San folded-felt coat or the VivTatari tartan dress. Then there’s effeff, where we combine super-quality everydays like tees and create instant manifesto-moments that stick around.

Our house doesn’t live by threads alone. Whist we create tailored, story telling armour for the artists at The Datura Tapes, from Lillit Vega’s razor-lined ‘Vacanza’ suit to the layered plaid of Etta Vale’s ‘Darkansas’ coat, we use the FFilter to create sleeve art, photoshoots, promo movies and other sonic-sourced artefacts.

When their in-house production team make an hour-long ASMR track from a Florentine Palazzo’s reverb, you know we’re turning it into a felt-wrapped pink wax cylinder. There’s also a diffusion merch line we’re emerging from their ‘The Truth, forty-eight thousdand times a second’ DNA.

The cutting tables and tablets from the FF Atelier are also branding and creating with clients such as the UK Dub Sound System we re-christened ‘Overproof’ and Tokyo based art-loon terrorists Kongu with everything from visual identity, mini-movies, art and imagery.

In it’s essence, we’re the visual visionaries of the I Live Night by Night (NxN) Collective. Combined with the audio landscapes and literary spoolings of our sisters The Datura Tapes and The Datura Press, were fusing a trinity of creative spirits, in, appropriately, Renaissance Florence.
